We at ICOM Productions (“ICOM”, “us,” “our,” or “we”), an independent corporation with its principal place of business in Calgary, AB, Canada, are committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit our websites and individuals who subscribe to use our services (“clients”). This Privacy Policy describes how we protect that personal data.

We recommend that you read this Privacy Policy to ensure you are fully informed about the types of personal data we collect, why and how we collect and protect it, where it is stored, and your rights relating to any of this data that applies to you.

1.   PRIVACY ON OUR WEBSITE

WHAT WE COLLECT

ICOM Productions automatically collects personal data through its website (https://www.icomproductions.ca). The type and manner of data that we collect automatically includes the following:

  • Device, Usage Information, and Transactional Data. We collect information about how you use our services and the computers or other devices, such as mobile phones or tablets, you use to access our services. Some examples include:

    • IP address

    • Unique device identifiers and device attributes, such as operating system and browser type

    • Usage data, such as web log data, referring and exit pages and URLs, platform type, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages and content viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, the date and time you used our services, the frequency of your use of our services, error logs, and other similar information

  • Contact Us Request. ICOM collects the following Personal Data from all Users who contact ICOM seeking more information:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email

    • Company

    • Phone

    • Role and Authority

    • Industry

    • Estimated Employees

    • Comments

  • Cookies and Related Technologies. We may use session cookies, which are text files containing small amounts of information that are downloaded on your device, or related technologies, such as web beacons, local shared objects, and tracking pixels, to store or collect information. Session cookies are used to maintain authentication while clients are using our products.   • Ads for Our Products and Services. We may use third-party providers, such as Google, on our services and elsewhere to bring you tailored ads about our products and services. We do not have access to these cookies or related technologies, and this Privacy Policy does not govern the use of those cookies and related technologies. If you do not wish to receive this type of advertising from us in the future, you can opt out using the DoubleClick opt-out page on this site: http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/ or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page found here: http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. We may also use Google Ads as a tool to acquire relevant new clients who are looking for products and services such as those provided by ICOM and Google AdSense to show our clients other relevant advertising that may assist them while they are using our site.

HOW YOU CAN OPT OUT

The processing of your personal data through the use of cookies and other related technology and your device and usage information is based on consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent to these processing activities at any time by choosing any of the following options:

  • Cookies and Other Related Technology. You can decline cookies through your browser settings. However, if you decline cookies, you may not be able to use some parts of our services.

  • Device and Usage Information. If you do not want us to see your device location, you can turn off location sharing on your device, change your device privacy settings, or decline to share your location on your browser. 

  • Do Not Track. Some devices and browsers support a “Do Not Track” or “DNT” privacy preference feature you can set to signal websites and online services that you do not wish to be tracked across the different websites or online services you visit. Our website does not currently change the way it operates upon detection of a Do Not Track or similar signal.

WITH WHOM WE SHARE THE INFORMATION

We share personal data only with service providers that support our services. These companies provide services such as the systems we use to run our sales cycle. We have contracts with our service providers that address the safeguarding and proper use of your personal data. With your consent, we allow third-party cookies to send you advertisements that may be relevant to you.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites and apps that you may use, including any linked to our services and websites. You should review the terms and policies for third-party websites and apps before clicking on any links.

HOW LONG WE KEEP THE INFORMATION

The personal data listed above that is collected through the ICOM Productions website may be retained for up to six (6) years. This allows you to be recognized by our website if you return.

 

2.   PRIVACY WHEN YOU USE OUR SERVICES

WHAT WE COLLECT

When expressing an interest in obtaining additional information about our services or registering to use the services, ICOM Productions collects information directly from you by requiring you to provide personal contact information, such as your name and email address. Please note that ICOM Productions does not collect personal credit card or other financial information.

In addition, we collect personal data directly when you:

  • Create or edit your user profile

  • Contact ICOM Productions’ Client Services (Support) team

  • Comment on our blogs or in community forums

WE USE THE PERSONAL DATA TO:

  • Send individuals records of their subscription relationship

  • Create and review data about our users and how they use our services

  • Test changes in our services and develop new features and products

  • Fix problems individuals may have with our services, including answering support questions and resolving technical issues

  • Manage the services platform including support systems and security

  • Prevent, investigate, and respond to fraud, unauthorized access to or use of our services, breaches of terms and policies, or other wrongful behavior

  • Comply with legal obligations, including records retention periods

WE DO NOT SHARE PERSONAL DATA EXCEPT IN THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES:

  • Service Providers. We share personal data with companies we use to support our services, such as intelligent search technology, intelligent analytics, authentication systems, bill collection, and fraud detection. We have contracts with our service providers that address the safeguarding and proper use of personal data.

  • Public or Government Authorities. We may share personal data where government authorities have demonstrated their lawful authority to obtain the information or where there are threats to personal safety, violations of this Privacy Policy or other agreements, or to protect existing legal rights. 

  • Business Transactions. We may share personal data where it is necessary in the context of a transaction, such as a merger, sale of our assets, or as part of the due diligence for such contemplated transactions. If this occurs, we will provide notification to the individuals concerned.

  • Consent. We may share personal data with consent, for example, when we post testimonials on our websites or when individuals choose to post comments on our blogs.

HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

We retain personal data only for as long as the account is open, unless a longer retention period is required, for example under tax law.

The processing of your personal data for the purposes listed in this Section 2 is based on your consent, terms, and/or conditions posted on our sites. You have the right to refrain from using any of our sites if you do not agree with the collection of this data or our terms and conditions. Transactional or business relationship messages may continue after you opt out of marketing messages.

3.   PRIVACY IN OUR DATABASES

Our user or client database includes the personal data of users who subscribe to the use of our services. Please see “Your Options” in Section 2 above to find out how to search and opt out of being part of this database. Refer to Section 6 to find out more about your rights in this regard.

4.   HOW WE PROTECT PERSONAL DATA

​

To keep your personal data safe, we use appropriate security safeguards to provide necessary protection. These include physical measures (e.g. restricting access to offices and alarm systems), up-to-date technological tools (e.g. passwords, encryption, firewalls, and security patches), and organizational controls (e.g. security clearances, limiting access, staff training, and agreements). We apply these measures, tools, and controls based on the sensitivity of the information we collect, use, and store, and the current state of technology.

We use AWS cloud services, certified under ISO/IEC 27018:2019 [ISO/IEC 27018: — Code of practice for protection of personally identifiable information (PII) in public clouds acting as PII processors.

As part of ICOM Productions’s security policy, we also follow best practices from the ISO 27001 Security Standards, which can be viewed by clicking the following link: http://www.iso.org/iso/home/standards/management-standards/iso27001.htm. We review security safeguards regularly to ensure they are up to date and that we have addressed any known vulnerabilities through regular security audits and/or testing.

Although we take steps to prevent unauthorized access to or use of personal data, the Internet and our services are not 100 percent secure. For this reason, we are not able to guarantee that the information we collect or store will always be protected from unauthorized access or that it will only be used as described in this Privacy Policy.

5.   WHERE PERSONAL DATA IS STORED

​

Personal data is stored on AWS cloud services, which means data will primarily be stored in Canada unless the client that is utilizing our services is located outside of Canada. In such cases, AWS cloud services in the country where the client resides may be utilized. Personal data becomes subject to the laws of the country where it is stored.

6.   YOUR RIGHTS

​

Whether you are a visitor on our website, a client, or a donor, ICOM recognizes and will comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and those rights that fall within the GDPR, except as limited by applicable law. The rights under the GDPR include:

  • The Right to Access. You have the right to submit a request to ICOM for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service. 

  • The Right to Rectification. You have the right to request that ICOM correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that ICOM completes information you believe is incomplete. 

  • The Right to Erasure. You have the right to request that ICOM erase your personal data, under certain conditions. 

  • The Right to Restrict Processing. You have the right to request that ICOM restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. 

  • The Right to Object to Processing. You have the right to object to ICOM's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions. 

  • The Right to Data Portability. You have the right to request that ICOM transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

You may also complain if you have concerns about the protection of your personal data at ICOM Productions by contacting us as per the method outlined in Section 10 Questions.

If you still have concerns, you may file a complaint with the privacy authority of your country.

7.   THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

Our website may include links to and from our business alliances. Please note that if you follow a link to any of these websites you should review their privacy policies to understand the privacy practices of their services as these websites have their own privacy policies that are different from ours.

8.   CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS

​

Under California’s “Shine the Light Law,” California residents have the right to receive information that identifies any third-party companies or individuals that ICOM has shared your Personal Data with in the previous calendar year, as well as a description of the categories of Personal Data disclosed to that third party. You may obtain this information once a year and free of charge by contacting ICOM as per Section 10 Questions.

9.   CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

​

Our services are not designed for and are not marketed to people under the age of 16 (“minors”). We do not knowingly collect or ask for information from minors. We do not knowingly allow minors to use our services. If you are a minor, please do not use our services or send us your information. We delete information that we learn is collected from a minor without verified parental consent. Please contact as per Section 10 Questions.
